We’re currently in Rapid City, SD , reflecting on the past few days of huge drives, great times, and loud shows. The new album has been translating quite well on stage and has been a lot of fun thus far. we’re looking forward to more shows. Missoula MT was a blast, as always. we owe many thanks to our old friends Mike, Nick, Hoyt, Chris, Pat, and all the other people who helped put the show together. Billings was also a great time, thanks to Sean Lynch of 11:11, Nick, and the lovely people @ Manny’s. we continue on tomorrow and play Kansas City on 10-09 @ the Riot Room.
In Honor of our upcoming tour, we give you “PLAY ALONG”.
The First single from our Forthcoming album LOVEWEAPONS.

HELLO AGAIN INTERNET.
you know what’s super punk?
WE ARE.
if you don’t believe me, take a walk down memory lane with THEMES
i’ve been digging through our history and updating this new version of our website in an attempt to make our lives seem more interesting for people who don’t read anymore, which is most of you….in fact if you’ve gotten this far, you deserve a treat of some kind, like an iced cream.
i’ve added loads of photographs and the like.
feel free to take a gander. better still. view it on your smart phones too.
the site is still super rough, and there’s much to be done.
there are still a lot of links that are not running yet, but don’t worry you’ll get the hang of it.
i’m having fun, and i hope you do too.
it is our hope here at THEMES, that this site will be a nice place for you all to come and vacation from your own reality while you’re propping up your desks at work, or surfing the web on your iPhone while riding your bike or driving your car with expired tabs on the free way.
don’t for get your helmet and seat belt apps!
with LOVE from Portland.
-Jacy
as many know we’ve been in the studio, on and off, for the past couple months working on a bunch of songs for our new album, as well as a few other cool surprises. we’re having a blast with the new jams, and can’t wait to share it with y’all. stay tuned for some sneak peeks at the album art, and maybe a bit of something to hear as well. we’ll be back on the road in a town near you, in no time. much love. I remember looking up through the clouds at a patch of clear sky where the stars had shown through. There was a lull then. There was a short period of time where nothing at all happened anywhere in the world and everything was still. It was just then, at that moment, a blast of light flashes an entire year gone by with blinding intensity, leaving only a tail of smoke, wagging up towards the sky. A calm feeling in the beginning days of the year lend way to greater reflection.
With so many great things, and so much thanks to give for all that happened in the year 2011 it’s difficult to know where to begin. The addition our our Friend and Drummer Nick Dayka has been the most monumental for us, thus we push forward into new territories on many levels. There is much music being made and i suppose one could expect new releases from THEMES some time early this Spring, as well as some other surprises.
In Honor of all people, places, and things that have contributed to the creation of this musical group called THEMES we are focusing our efforts in an act of appreciation for what we have and an act of solidarity in observation of NATIONAL BUY NOTHING DAY.
feel free to go to the bandcamp page and download all of our albums for free this weekend.
thank you

These Pains of glass in the breakfast nook are old. the kind people ” pay good good money for”. this glass bends the light to make things appear as they are not. all shapes devoid of familiarity. obtuse angles if angles at all. jumbled shapes of a flock of birds spotting the yard with a writhing grey flurry that tricks the eye into an almost dizzying strain. i wonder if we appear the same with our flock through these windows. loading the vans with things we’ll take with us, or on the lawn with good byes to those forging ahead as the great explorers of the west. covering every inch of the paved roads of this country, and moving on to more that are gravel, dust and dirt. all the while humming an Ode To The Flock. the flock that we fly with.
